Building in Pacific Palisades.
Pacific Palisades is part of the City of Los Angeles, so permits go through LADBS rather than a local city hall, a point that catches out people who assume the Palisades is its own jurisdiction.
The Palisades Fire in January 2025 destroyed a great deal of the community, and rebuilding there is running alongside the same work in Altadena. We have completed remodel work in the Palisades, and a living and dining project there is on this site.

City of Los Angeles process
LADBS plan check is its own procedure with its own timelines, and hillside properties bring additional review. Building here and building in Pasadena are genuinely different administrative projects even when the house is the same.
Hillside and coastal constraints
Much of the Palisades is hillside, with grading, retaining and geotechnical requirements to match. Parts of the area also fall within the Coastal Zone, which can add a separate approval on top of the building permit.
